This Privacy Policy explains how Gilmour Studio ("we", "us") handles information in connection with our website and our use of third-party platforms, including the Pinterest API. We keep data collection to a minimum.

Who we are

Gilmour Studio is a small independent shop selling reproductions of vintage and public-domain artwork as prints. You can reach us at gilmourprints@gmail.com.

What data we collect, and for how long

Website visitors: we do not require accounts and do not run marketing profiles on you. Our hosting provider may automatically keep standard technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) for security; these are retained only short-term (typically up to about 30 days) and then deleted.
If you email us: we receive the details you send (such as your name and email address), and we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request, after which it is deleted.
Purchases: are handled entirely by our sales platform (Etsy). We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
Pinterest: the only Pinterest data we hold is an access token for our own Gilmour Studio business account (see below). We do not collect or store personal data about Pinterest users.

How we use data — and the Pinterest API

We use the Pinterest API only to publish and manage content on our own Gilmour Studio Pinterest business account — for example, creating pins that link to our own product listings. We authenticate with our own account, and:

We do not access, collect, store, or process the personal data of Pinterest users, and we do not use the API to gather data about other people.
The only Pinterest-derived item we handle is the access token for our own account, kept securely and used solely to post our own marketing content. We do not build analytics or profiles from Pinterest data.
If Pinterest is disconnected — if we disconnect our Pinterest account or its access is revoked — the stored access token is deleted, our app immediately stops accessing Pinterest, and any incidental Pinterest-derived data in our systems is deleted (within 30 days at the latest).

Aside from Pinterest, we use Google Analytics purely to understand aggregate traffic to our own site (see "Analytics and cookies" below).

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We do not sell, resell, redistribute, or otherwise share Pinterest content or any Pinterest-derived data with any third party. We rely on a few trusted providers strictly to run the shop, and their own privacy policies apply when you interact with them:

Etsy — our storefront, checkout, and order handling.
Printify — printing and fulfillment of orders.
Google Analytics — aggregate, anonymized website traffic measurement.
Our website host.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic to our own site — for example, how many people visit, which pages are popular, and the general country or device they use. This helps us decide which collections and content to focus on. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes this data on our behalf under Google's Privacy Policy; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Aside from analytics cookies, our website uses only the cookies strictly necessary for it to function. Third-party platforms linked from our site (such as Etsy and Pinterest) may set their own cookies once you visit them, under their respective policies.

Your rights & how to contact us

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to its processing. To make a request — or for any question about your data — email us at gilmourprints@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Not affiliated with Pinterest

Gilmour Studio uses the Pinterest API, but our app and brand are not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Pinterest, Inc. "Pinterest" is a trademark of Pinterest, Inc. Our use of Pinterest is also subject to Pinterest's own Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above shows when it was last revised.
